Founded in 2020, we are an artists-for-artists organization committed to creating space for compelling visual arts projects, fostering experimentation and exchange, and broadening Tarrytown’s connection to the larger contemporary arts community.

Meet Our Directors
Jess Blaustein (b. Philadelphia, PA; raised WI) is a craft-based conceptual artist. Exhibitions include BravinLee programs, New York, NY; Collar Works, Troy, NY; Flux Factory, Queens, NY; KinoSaito, Verplanck, NY; Field Projects, New York, NY; ICOSA Collective, Austin TX; Miniartextil, Como, Italy; San José Museum of Quilts and Textiles, CA; Craft Forms, Wayne PA; The Artist as Quiltmaker, Oberlin, OH; Materials Hard + Soft, Denton, TX; and the Quilt Visions Biennials, San Diego, CA. Recent installations include BravinLee programs The Golden Thread 2, NY, and the Science Gallery, Melbourne, Australia. Her work has been supported by The Mellon Foundation, the Getty Research Institute, The New School Green Fund, the Smithsonian Institution, and was awarded the UK Fine Art Textiles Award 2022. She currently teaches at Montclair State University and has previously taught at The New School and the University of Pennsylvania. Monica Carrier (b. Philadelphia, PA) is an artist in New York who works primarily with ink on paper. Her drawings celebrate the absurd alongside the sincere. She works with topics of personal relationships, spaces between & pareidolia. Often with humor, she utilizes the spiritual, hand in hand with the irreverent. Carrier has exhibited widely in the United States & Internationally with solo exhibitions at A.I.R. Gallery and Thomas Hunter Project Space in NYC and FjellerupIBund & Grund in Denmark. Her work has been included at venues such as: KuBe Art Center, Ethan Cohen Gallery (Beacon, NY); Warburton Gallery/USU (NY); Tiger Strikes Asteroid (NY); Trestle (NY); The Highpoint Project, (VA); ArtsWestchester (NY); Rhombus Space (NY); Bruno David Gallery (MO). She has been awarded fellowships, residencies and grants from Hunter College, A.I.R. Gallery and Arts@Renaissance. She has organized a number of exhibitions including at Arts@Renaissance (NY) where she had a studio residency; via A.I.R. Gallery (NY) where she received a Fellowship; with tART (NY), a feminist art collective in which she was a member; as well as at Peep Space, of which she is a Founding Director. Jacquelyn Strycker is a Brooklyn-based artist and educator working across the boundaries of painting, printmaking, and fibers to make works that blur the divisions of the handmade, the digital, and the mechanical. She is concerned with the relationship between decoration and function, and invested in material exploration and handicraft. Strycker has a BA in Visual Arts from Columbia University and an MFA from Tyler School of Art. She teaches at the Pratt Institute and the School of Visual Arts. Her work is in the collection of the New York Public Library and Memorial Sloan Kettering, and has recently been exhibited at Kathryn Markel Fine Arts, NY; Print Center New York; Weatherspoon Museum, Greensboro, NC; Hunterdon Art Museum, Clinton, NJ; Kunstraum Gallery, Brooklyn; Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, Solomons, MD; Tyger Tyger Gallery, Asheville, NC; Collar Works, Troy, NY; and Piano Craft Gallery, Boston; She has participated in residencies at Institute for Electronic Arts, Alfred, The Women’s Studio Workshop, and the Vermont Studio Center. In 2023. she was a member of the inaugural cohort of the Print Center New York’s New Voices program. From 2023-24 she was an artist-in-residence at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD), and in 2024 she was a NYFA Painting Finalist. thestrycker.com | @thestrycker
Rachel Sydlowski is a visual artist and educator. She makes large-scale mixed-media installations, sculptures, and prints informed by historical architecture, planned gardens, and native plants. Recent exhibitions include a long-term installation at The Bronx Children’s Museum, The Hudson River Museum, Dyckman Farmhouse Museum, Wassaic Project, Meta Open Arts, and MoCA Westport. Curatorial projects include; Building it Up to Tear it Down, Patterns of Power, No Nature, and Lucky to be Here. She received a 2021 SMFA/Tufts University Traveling Fellowship and holds an MFA in Printmaking and an MA in Art Education from The City University of New York. rachelsydlowski.com | @rachelsyd
